Ooey Gooey Olympics

Now that school is back in session, my schedule has quieted down a bit! I hope to blog a bit more. Let me share with you a little bit about our summer camp Ooey Gooey Olympics!

This is the fourth or fifth year that we have held this event for our school-age summer camp. The event is organized by the wonderful Ms. Stephanie (in tye-dye) and Ms. Lori (front row, blue shirt, and sunglasses) I am in the back row wearing the baseball hat!

This is event is full of wet, silly, and gross games! This is one of my favorite events of the year!

One of the first games is the Applesauce Dig! The object of the game is to be the first to find and eat the gummy bear hidden inside the bowl of applesauce! The fun part is that you can't use
your hands!

This game  was pretty easy. It is just a race through pans filled with ice!

In this game the teams are challenged to use shaving cream to create the most creative hair!
After this event we have a shaving cream fight!

This is an incredibly gross game!

During this game each team forms a line and sits behind a giant bucket of water. The object of the game is to have the most water in your team's bucket at the end of the alloted time. They campers use the sponges to move the water from the front bucket, through the line, and to the back bucket.

We have a few other games including the Fruity Pebble Face Off! On a tarp you spread out a few boxes of fruity peppbles. Each team chooses about seven people to have their faces covered with marshmallow fluff. The campers lay on their belly and try to pick up as many fruity pebbles as they can in the alloted time!

This year's Olympics was a VERY hot day! We made sure the kids had plently of opportunities to drink water and get wet. I had spray bottles full of cool water to keep everyone cool!

The Oeey Gooey Olympics provide a great opportunity for team spirt and fun!

Looking forward to next summer already!
